Theorycrafting the Combat Rework: The value of gear Posted: 27 Jan 2021 01:31 PM PST The question I asked myself was: If you have an empty slot, what will your dps increase be if you fill it? Both for the scaled and unscaled situation. The resulting spreadsheet is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OXnU-U8LeaHOceSOFvyFZzWv0u6d9NZGW9FeB5FcbJU/edit?usp=sharing Some conclusions, with the assumptions from the spreadsheet:

Posted: 27 Jan 2021 06:06 PM PST I'm a returning player and I know for a fact that there has been a combat rework. I'm looking for class that suits me. My play style would be going in ahead and defeating mobs fast (AOE). I would also like to not die a lot during the times I'm playing solo. Yes I would like to deal dps also. A lot of people are recommending me Guardian Fighter, Oathbound Paladin or Warlock. I just want to think about this so I'm not wasting my time. All the tips and advice helps! [link] [comments]
What was the argument against segregating the queues to alleviate the need for scaling? Posted: 27 Jan 2021 02:02 PM PST We all know that scaling was implemented to help combat higher rated characters ruining the dungeon experiences for newer players. But If they had separate queues based on IL with different difficulty levels and adjusted the loot accordingly wouldn't that have been one the best things they could have done? We used to have expert queues, leveling queues, etc. But if there were more options couldn't we have just cut out the need for scaling in the first place? They could have even put a cap on the IL requirements to help if needed. Why would a 30k+ IL toon run a leveling queue reserved for 5-10k IL for example, when in doing so they would forgo a larger AD reward from an expert queue? Is the answer to this question really as simple as "There isn't enough people playing to make this work.?" Furthermore if so, then doesn't that just speak volumes about how they've handled the game over recent years while proving their philosophy where it's better to satisfy the newer players over the veterans wrong? Thoughts? [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 Jan 2021 05:31 PM PST Which currencies from old sharandar are worth stocking up on the new mod? Crescents? Sparks? Charm? Seedlings? Blades? Seals of the dark fey? Any of these carry over for something in mod 20? [link] [comments]
Someone please explain what happened... Posted: 27 Jan 2021 05:23 AM PST So I just started playing a couple of weeks ago, and finally made it to level 80 with my Ranger. I've spent too much money, and worked really hard to finally get to the point where I can enjoy doing random dungeons. I knew when I got to level 80 I could be like other level 80s and totally own the dungeons. It looked like so much fun. I believe the game updated. I went to do a random dungeon, and the first little group of nothings were super tough. Our group had low levels in it (one was a level 5), and by the time we finally managed to get to the Boss, and all the little guys came out, everyone died quickly. I made it far past everyone else, but I couldn't kill them by myself. We continued to try about 8 more times, before I decided this wasn't fun anymore and logged off the game. I'm posting this to get some explanation of why this was done. I thought it was fun being able to easily kill low level dungeon critters. Why change that? If the game Gods decided that they needed more challenging dungeon, couldn't they just create new ones or something? This question is aimed to the game designers. I would love to be able to just quit this game I have come to love so much, if only I could get all the money I spent on it back. Why did you take a game I loved to play after work to relax, and make it something I hate because of the frustration level? [link] [comments]
Can I play on my PS5 with my friend who is on PS4? Posted: 27 Jan 2021 06:03 PM PST Basically title, my friend really wants to play this game on his PS4, his first MMO since 2007. Figure we could play together but I'm on PS5 now.. will we still be able to group up? [link] [comments]

Minor potion bug for leveling characters Posted: 27 Jan 2021 06:25 AM PST They seem to have forgotten to buff the lvl 45 heal pots (square bottle), they only do 10k HP's while the lvl 30's (round bottle) do 80k and the lvl 60's do 120k. [PC] [link] [comments]

2 years returning, familiar compagnon? Posted: 27 Jan 2021 10:30 AM PST Hi! Im returning from a 2 years break, and yesterday i participated in a new dungeon (dungeon of mad man?) Last time i played was in mod 15, so for me it is a new 5players dungeon lol. Anyway, i received a familiar, a little white golem, that i can summon, even if i'm already with my Dancing shield. What are the familiars? I looked on the web and nothing tells me what they do, what they eat, or if they are good for me, a fighter tank (guardian fighter). Thanks :) [link] [comments]
