    Neverwinter tipps as seen ingame

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 07:36 AM PDT

I was bored today because farming dungeons is pointless at the moment so I decided to see what official sources I could find explaining item level and I stumbled upon the tipps section ingame. Here's what the game says about various topics:

    Campaigns

You've made it to level 70! What a great achievement, only now you realize there are many campaigns that all opened up at once.

It is important to know that not all level 70 campaigns are the same difficulty. The Swort Coast Chronicles has them listed relative to their challenge. Underdark and Dreadring are great campaigns to start on as a fresh leel 70 and then work your way up from there. And of course, if you haven't finished up Sharandar that is another goal to works towards.

Campaigns can be worked on in parallel. Do not think you can only do one at a time. Most of all, remember that there is no rush to have all of them completed as there is a lot of fun and exciting content to experience.

Ok so it seems like the tip was written before there was a level 80 levelcap but other than that it's still pretty accurate for the legacy campaigns.

    Companions

Companions are an important addition to any adventurer. Besides aiding you in combat, companions also transfer some of their stats to you. One of the ways companions increase in power is with Runestones. The most popular runestone is the Bonding Runestone which significantly increases the stats that are shared from the companion to the player. Bonding Runestones are obtained from the Auction House, Lockboxes, or from buying Companions or certain Companion Packs in the Zen Market.

Another form oc companion known as an Augment Companion, does not fight in combat, but instead follows you areound and provides bucffs. These companions share theis stats via Eldritch Runestones which are more easily obtained from drops in the game or from the Auction House.

Equipment only benefits a sumoned companion, there is no need to put gear on the rest of your active companions.

This information is obviously really out of date. It applied before the overhaul to the companion system. Eldritch runestones don't exist anymore, There are no active companions anymore and it doesn't mention any companion bonuses. It needs an complete rewrite to be relevant.

    Mounts

Mounts are mote than just a fast mode of your transportation. Their insignia slots will directly grant your character stats. The Mounts tab of the Character Sheet has a 'Stable' section. There you can equip up to 5 mounts which can each have up to 3 insignia slots. In addition to the insignias directly granting stats, there are Insignia Bonuses based on the combination of insignia slottsd. Use the Insignia Bonus List to see what Bonuses a mount can have and choose your insignias accordingly.

An additional feature is epic mounts have an Equip Power. This is an additional passive boost that can be chosen from the 'Current' tab in the Mounts window. Overall mounts can contribute a larger amount of item level to your character. Make sure to collect multiple mounts and insignias to maximize their potential.

Overall it's pretty accurate for the state of mounts before the mount update. Obviously is has to be updated to reflect the changes of the mount update and should for example include information about collars, active powers and mount bolster.

    Ramdom Queues

Ramdom queues are a special form of queue that is broken up by the type of content it contains and picks a random Dungeon, Skirmish or Trial that is part of its queue group. Each random queue will award a large amount of rough astral diamonds for the first completion per day.

There are also stronghold quests will will award dungeoneering shards for completing different random queues.

The information is still pretty accurate. Maybe include a distinction between the regular dungeon queue and epic dungeon queue and also mention the seals as a reward.

    Refinement

Refinement will continue to be an important part of your character progression. If you're unsure of where to put your Refinement Points at any given time, these three areas will give you the biggest gains: Bonding Runestones, Primary/Secondary Artifact Weapons, Enchantments slotted in companion equipment.

It is also more affordable to upgrade all of your enchantments at the same pace. Uprading all of them to Rank 6 will be an easier pace to maintain then upgrading a single one all the way to 14 before starting on the next.

Breaking down an existing legendary artifact weapon will grant enough Refinement Points to get a new weapon to Epic quality. For most weapons the new Epic weapon will have better stats than the old Legendary, making this a worthwhile investment.

Overall the information is stil pretty accurate. enchantments now go to rank 15 instead of rank 14 and I'm not sure if the part of converting a legendary weapon to refinement points is still true.

Now to the main part of this post: Item Level

Figuring out al of the ways to raise your item level can seem like a daunting task. This is a simplified list meant to help with understand the different pieces that tie into item level and to give guidance towards which areas to look deeper into depending on your current situation.

Guild Boons - Guild Boons can add up to 1500 Item Level to your character and are a big boost to stats.

Epic Mount - An epic mount will grant 250 Item Level through its passive equip power as well as opening up 3 insignia slots.

Equipment - Equipment pieces can exceed 500 IL per piece but don't feel you need to get that high immediately. Getting a set of gear like the League Equipment off of the auction house will give you a total of 1680 Item Level at 420 per piece.

Seal Vendow - Make sure to check the seal vendor in Protector's Enclave, there is often quality equipment you can buy with seals to boost your item leve, such as Ostorian Rings at 420 Item Level each.

Insignias - Even having just 12 rare insignias will grant you 600 Item Level and provide you with Insignia Bonuses for even more benefits. From there you can work towards 15 epic insignias.

Obviously the item level values besides the guild boons are way out of date. Every piece of equipment over level 70 has over 600 ilvl. I don't even know what item level an epic mount has at the moment and how item level of mounts in general are calculated anymore. Rare insignias back when the tipp was written apparently had 50 ilvl each. Currently they have 20 and epic ones only have 40. Only legendary insignias have 80 ilvl. Also it doesn't explain what item level is in general. If you hover over the item level stat in the character sheet it only says that it's an approximation of your overall effectiveness.

    Buy your Xuna now!

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 10:47 PM PDT

This sounds like an advertisement.. but it is not.

I wanted to direct your attention to this part of the new loot system announcement:

*All of the premium items that drop are bound to account with the exception of the Legendary Account Wide Mounts which are unbound.

Currently the companion market is/was driven by the unbound companion drops from the dungeons.

With no more unbound companion drops there will be no companion market any more, and the few unbound companions that are left on AH will skyrocket in price. So get your companions now!

This of course will leave the Zen store as the only viable source of companions. First they refreshed the Zen companion store by making companions cheaper and account-wide. Now they push us into using it by cutting unbound companion supply. And since the Zen companions will not be tradeable since they are made account-wide, no more Zen companions on AH either.

The mount system was very focused on driving Zen sales. Now we get the companion changes that are also very focused on driving Zen sales. And the ZAX queue is growing ever longer.

Collateral Damage GH20 Seeking Active & Intrepid Members!

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 09:03 AM PDT

    Hello, and thanks for reading!

We are Collateral Damage, a long-standing and very active guild on Neverwinter PS4. Our guild hall is level 20, so we have plenty of maxed boons for members to choose from! Structures include Wizard's Workshop, Stable, Barracks, and Mercenary Outpost.

Most of our members are in US or EU time zones, and our wonderful alliance covers all time zones.

We can offer you a great place to learn and grow your character - not only do we have a guild Discord server chock full of information, but we also act as mentors to our members. Stick with us and we'll help you learn the ins and outs of your class, and teach you the mechanics of the hardest dungeons. We are also constantly hosting giveaways and contests for our members to participate in, and have a little extra fun!

What we'd like to see from potential members is not just activity, but friendliness and an eagerness to learn. We don't want members who are just here for the boons - we want people who want to work together to maintain a great environment for all our members! We love to help our allies and see them grow as well, so we do have an 800 weekly influence requirement. Since we're focused on character building and dungeon training, we also ask that your main is level 70, but you can bring as many alts for leveling as you'd like!

If you're interested, feel free to message me on here, on PSN @Daft-Death, or just join our guild Discord with the following link and tell me you came from Reddit! https://discord.gg/GEqvKR3

    What's your abyssal chicken's name?

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 12:46 AM PDT

If the rest of the world is anything like my alliance, you take great pride in the stupid names of your abyssal chicken companions. Please tell us what your chicken is called and ELI5 why that's the funniest thing ever.

My chicken is called Cook. Cook the Chicken. In personality, he is very much like the character Cook in "Skins". So it is appropriate. He likes to call himself Captain Cook, because he thinks he's hot stuff, but if wants to carry on like that he'll find himself in front of Tiamat's red head quick smart.

    Change Xbox Control Bindings?

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 05:39 AM PDT

Is there a way to change button bindings on Xbox? My left bumper is not working and if Microsoft thinks I'm gonna fork out £80 for a mere controller they can think again.

    Now what?

    Posted: 22 Sep 2020 01:57 AM PDT

I've recently came back to the game after a 3 year break.

I grinded out treasure maps until I got the main hand, offhand, and every piece of gear that can be 1,225 item level.

I have a level 80 3set upgraded to legendary. Good enchants, good comp setup, all that.

    My item level is 25k

My question is, what should I be focusing on during my daily play to continue progressing my character that isn't solely based on Astral diamonds? I do my daily queues for AD, some campaign stuff for fun/boons, but then find myself sitting there thinking "now what?"

I want to get a lot of gameplay in daily but want to be progressing while I'm doing it.

I'm having a great time with the game and feel like I've hit somewhat of a wall.

    Any input is appreciated.

    Thanks! :)
