    The Aftermonth

    The Aftermonth

I downloaded the game because my niece came to visit and she saw the "trailer" of Neverwinter with me (the Avernus mod). But, since she's only 9 years old and speaks absolutely no english, I was the one who would actually play. She chose the race and class with my little advice on what each one does. I picked the name because she was taking a lot of time thinking and I wanted to play so bad!

Today my toon turns a month old. I wasn't expecting to be hooked so much into the game. I started reading guides and watching videos, then I made this Reddit account just to join the Neverwinter community where I learned a lot. That's why I want to thank you all for posting your questions and giving advice. It really helped get the most out of my toon and never get bored playing. I know I'm still a newcomer but I expect to keep playing for a long time :)

My best moment in game happened just an hour ago when I finally survived Bel

My worst moment was a couple of days ago when the power went off just seconds before ending my first (and only) LOMM. There's no screenshot of that obviously :'(

Now I'll just show you my stats at the moment. Keep in mind that I'm not VIP or wealthy at all, just using the best gear I can get by grinding and spending few ADs.

I accept all constructive critics, advice, etc. All welcome to add me in game of course!

    See you in game! ;)

    Which Legendary Mount pack?

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 04:51 PM PST

So there are 2v of available mount packs in the Zen market, which would be the best one to buy? And of those mount choices what 3 would be the best?

Also, is the Holy Vorpal worth buying at 30% off? I currently dont have a Vorpal at all and this looks tempting..

    Mount combat powers.

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 01:52 PM PST

Is there a list of which mounts give which Combat powers? The legendary mounts are easy to find, but I want to upgrade a specific ability, tunnel vision, but have no idea which mount gives this.

It doesn't say when choosing the ability or when looking through the stable. I've been looking through the internet posts and guides but can't seem to find this. I'd rather not buy another mount just for something I already have.

    Any help would be appreciated.

This game mechanics are so convoluted that weeks into my first character I still haven't figured out anything

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 07:35 AM PST

    Pretty much title.

I'm a lvl 67 Rogue and I do not understand half of the game mechanics. Since hitting 60 I've been thrown around with daily/weekly quests that all give different rewards which purpose I do not recognize. I feel like I'm being pulled in every direction and haven't made any progress at all and couldn't even start a single lvl 60+ map.

I open up the companion tab and there's an entire panel for runes, gear and skill. I don't have any rune or gear so I do not understand what they are for neither where to get them at all and, let's be honest, I wouldn't dare putting any of that on any companion because who knows if I could ever retrieve them later. Skills are confusing aswell. I'm not sure what is active and what is not and whether I need the fitting companion for a skill to take effect at all. I don't understand how to level up companions, I don't have the astral diamond and I'm not going to use them on a random companion they gave me back at lvl 10 because I know there's more of them. The other currency is unknown, I have no idea how to get it and never saw it before. The companion tab is essentially useless to me after training to the max level because I don't understand how to make progress in there.

So I open the mount tab and again there's an unknown currency for levelling them up, a slot for a piece of gear that I do not own nor I have any idea how to get, an enchant-like system that unlocks a mount specific buff and some skills, with no more to choose from. Another dead end that needs to be figured out.

Fine, let's try to refine an enchantment/artifact/emblem/rune/whatever you call them they all use refinement point it can't be that hard... It is. Different reagents for each of them, runes, stone, dust, with no indication where to get them and preservation wards that I totally don't know where to get but SUGGESTS me that failing an enchant will not simply deny the enchant, but then what happens if I do? Reagents are lost? The enchantment is lost? The item is broken? I don't know! I have no fucking idea because I can't get reagents and if I did I SUPPOSE I wouldn't want to use them on the first shitty artifact I find.

...Let's go into Workshop then. I have 3 slots for gatherers and have had 2 since the moment I stepped in for the first time. It might be all random, fine, but then again I've been waiting for a blacksmith to try and get some lvl 30 tools and I haven't been offered a single one for about 2 weeks now. Let's not even talk about how hard it is to track the workshop inventary and how a simple number anywhere in the crafting or buying UI counting how much of an item I already have would help. Recipes themselves could list all the basic components they need and it would immensely help. The list of stuff for the girl cosplaying a dead lolita under the blimp could appear in the workshop and even if I still had to back and forth to sell gear at least I wouldn't be double guessing what I'm supposed to make for her everytime the list updates and I want to figure out what's cheaper or readily available to make.

So much stuff in this game either deserves an explanation or most reasonably some kind of dumbing down because honestly having a thousand way to make a thousand stat stick is not fun, it's so convoluted it hurts me to even think about delving into it. There's a million different shops, a million different currencies, a billion thing going on at the same time.

Like, seriously, I've been doing the elemental seed quests daily now and all I get is containers with black pearls that, again, mean nothing to me, meanwhile the campaign "steps" require me another currency I've never seen and never been offered. I get companion "gifts" from some other campaign steps, and it's just a red square icon with no description, it doesn't appear in my bags so I suppose it's some form of currency. So now currency I don't have I don't know how to get, and currency I do have I don't know where to spend.

You could give me the best and most complete explanation for all of that, and that would really help, but as far as I can tell, this game is too convoluted, the UI is unsufficient, and after 2 weeks my only accomplishment was racking up experience.

    Coalesced magics

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 05:24 AM PST

So i recently got serious about farming CMs, 200 per day from corrupted stuff and ~ 100 from MEs. Now I have two questions: 1) Artifact that you can buy for these seals look pretty good to me, but i'm not sure if it's worth to invest and upgrade them or selling at the AH since they are pretty valuable. 2) Is there a way to earn more CMs per day ? For istance what happens if i run another ME other than the 3 daily quests ? Do i still earn thos 5/10 CMs from bosses ?
