    The 80% nerf on healing...

    Posted: 02 Jul 2020 06:29 AM PDT

It seems the devs do not realize how bad their nerf is.

    Outgoing Healing x 0.75

They nerfed Outgoing healing by more than 2/3 (10% companions only give 3% now). A good Cleric could have more than 60% Outgoing Healing, with mod 19 they will have 20% Outgoing Healing. That nerfs their healing by 25%.

    Incoming Healing x 0.85

They nerfed Incoming Healing as bad as Outgoing Healing. Let's just consider the case of someone with full rank 15 tacticals. In mod 18, they had 30% Incoming Healing, with mod 19 it's now 10%. Tanks are more impacted by this change, as they could get more than 60% Incoming Healing with their companions on top of tacticals. With just the Tactical nerf, people get 15% less healing.

    Critical Severity x 0.81

Critical Severity is reduced by half for healing in mod 19. If you had 125% Crit Severity, you now have 62.5%. This means that on average, counting both crit and non crit heals, you healed by 1.62 times a non crit hit. Now, your average heal will heal only 1.31 times a non crit heal. That's a 19% nerf.

    Bastion of Health x 0.43

Bastion of Health (and the equivalent for other healers) now has its magnitude spread among those it hits. The magnitude was increased to 1500 (let's even take the 1600 magnitude coming in next update, which changes nothing, really). Hit the whole party, and you heal with a magnitude of 320 compared to 750 in mod 18. That's a 57% nerf.

    Overall : a 78% nerf

If we take everything into account, in mod 19, your Bastion of Health will now heal 22% of what it was healing in mod 18. If you got the Lionheart weapons, it will be slightly better, because they were buffed by about 19% ! So, your Bastion of Health will heal by about 26% of what it did in mod 18. That's still a 74% nerf.

What were they thinking about, when healing was already tough ? I know we have new powers, but they seem in no way practical (tap or maintain sounds like a small controller issue can become very problematic, was okay for Arbiters because the function was the same, but on Devouts... and targeting on consoles is awful...). They are worse than channelling divinity, because channelling divinity had an effect even if we had to stop it midway to evade an aoe. Now, we basically have nothing to do, and have to wait for divinity to replenish on its own, we can't prepare a heal if we have to evade... Fantastic gameplay !

Paladins were the only ones capable of making a difference and, with good timing, protecting their team from being one shot by many mechanics. DCs and SWs could only watch their teammates getting one shot, and would have been way better with a buff on their damage mitigation abilities. And now, we are nerfed to the abyss. So much that healing potions are about as good as our main healing spell in mod 19.

Devs, please, think about what you are doing before implementing 4 huge nerfs on the same thing at once. That's just awful.

Has anyone been able to complete Cragmire Crypts (Master) in mod 19 ? IC sounds like tons of "fun" too... Fun is the keyword. That's what players want. Not nerfs. Challenges are good, nerfs are not.

    Lliira's event firework/token farming guide

    Posted: 02 Jul 2020 11:40 PM PDT

The best and really only way to "farm" tokens is to farm professional fireworks, so that you're in a better position to receive more tokens when the event is active every 30 minutes.

PF Farming method #1: Buff Killing

The far and away best way to farm professional fireworks is by getting stacks of the Lliira's Inspiration 10 min buff by having a random person found by zone chat/friend/guild member or alliance member use Lliira's Fireworks near you and then killing mobs within 10 levels of you (be sure to return the favor for them, as using the fireworks only buffs nearby players, not the person consuming them!) Each stack of this buff adds 1 count more of professional fireworks to the base of 1 firework when dropped by an enemy. It does NOT increase the likelihood of an enemy dropping fireworks, just the quantity when they do drop them. So if you have 5 stacks of this buff, you'd get 6 fireworks per firework loot drop instead of the normal 1 count drop.

You can pair your stacks of Lliira's Inspiration buffs with the Lliira's Joy 30 minute buff, which has the same effect as LI but lasts 3x as long and doesn't stack, that you get just from being in Protectors Enclave when the event ends for max efficiency. I recommend farming fireworks with buffs at insurgencies due to the sheer number of enemies + farming seal and writings at the same time, but any area with enemies within 10 levels of you will work.

PF Farming method #2: Firework crates

You can also easily farm 30-50 fireworks during the 10 minute PE event by looting firework crates and depositing every 5 you get into your shared bank account. I recommend doing this in an instance with a low player count throughout duration of the event after placing your 5 fireworks. You cannot loot the crates if you have more than 5 fireworks in your inventory, so be sure to put any other fireworks you have in your SHARED bank account. Fireworks in your normal bank account are counted towards being in your inventory.

    Token "Farming"/Event Overview:

You qualify for a chance at a token reward during the Protectors Enclave event by placing at least 5 fireworks doing the event, so be sure to do that as much as you're able every 30 minutes. It doesn't matter what place you actually finish on the leaderboard, so it's not worth placing any more than 5 fireworks per event until you have exactly 200 for silver rank (guaranteed 1-2 tokens) and then exactly 500 for gold rank (guaranteed 2-3 tokens).

Read my note at the bottom of this before considering placing 200/500 fireworks.

If you don't have 5 fireworks at the start of the event, you can easily find 5 in crates that spawn around PE during the event within 10 minutes.

Travel to protectors enclave every 30 minutes (the event starts at times on the clock that end in :00 and :30 and lasts 10 minutes, so it'll be active anytime ending in :00 - :10 and :30 - :40), and place only 5 fireworks until you have exactly 200 or exactly 500 saved up in your shared character bank account (Placing your fireworks in the normal bank account counts as if it's in your inventory when placing fireworks!) and then place all of those at once. Be sure to do the daily event participation quest as well for 2 tokens.

NOTE: I'd highly recommend doing the math on your platform if it's worth placing 200 or 500 fireworks for a chance at 2-3 tokens as opposed to just placing 5 fireworks for a chance at 1 token.

As you can only do the event every 30 minutes, I'd have to imagine it is NOT worth placing more than 5 fireworks ever, especially when you take into account how much a max stack of 100 professional fireworks goes for on the trade house. Compare that price versus the price of the top event rewards on the trade house like the Starry Sphere mount (currently about 800k AD on Xbox), and the 20% companion damage boost bell (currently around 1m AD on Xbox), and do the math if it's better to sell stacks of 100 fireworks on the trade house or if it's better to put the fireworks towards the event/Lliira tokens (by checking the price of the bag of Lliira's tokens on the trade house in AD AND remembering you can convert AD into 125 Zen to buy yourself). Then remember that the price of the bag of Lliira's tokens in AD or Zen is equivalent to the value of 3 Lliira's tokens. And of course, take into account how much you value your own time as you can only earn 1, 2 or 3 tokens every 30 minutes outside of the 2 gained in the daily quest.

As of now with the event just beginning, I'd think it's not worth placing 200 or 500 fireworks but rather more efficient selling them instead. This may change as the event progresses, or not as it's a relatively short timeframe for an event, but absolutely important to keep in mind.

Hopefully that all makes sense, feel free to hit me with any questions/improvements!

Vistani Raiments vs IL 980 Belt?

    Posted: 03 Jul 2020 12:02 AM PDT

Would it be better to get the vistani belt to IL 700 for the 2 str and Dex or would it be better to wear an IL 980 belt with str and con because I'm trying to make a glass cannon rogue but I'm also new to the game. My char is at IL 17506 rn and I've been trying to get to 1800 so I can do the random trial queues. Where can I look to find other high item level equipment so that I can get to a avernus? I've been trying to do stardock for the lionheart set and MEs. Is there anywhere else I should look?

    Worth starting all over?

    Posted: 02 Jul 2020 10:58 PM PDT

Hello guys. I played Neverwinter for 6 Months on Ps4 in 2018 and loved the game. I would like to start over on Windows and i would appreciate some information if its worth playing in 2020 and how many active players the game has and if it even has a future. I stopped playing the game on playstation after doing 2000 (iam not lying :D) beholder runs not getting the mount while other players got 2 in 500 runs. How are drop rates on windows? Did the VIP system changed? how is the community? if i forgot anything important i would appreciate any information

    thank you

Best way to level active companions?

    Posted: 02 Jul 2020 07:37 PM PDT

I got extremely lucky past couple weeks regarding my main companion. Got a quasit juma bags and multiple companions token packs from lockboxes to get my quasit from rare to legendary without spending ad. My question is how would I level my other companions to at least epic, without having to buy Comp Exp Treatise, efficiently (if there is a way to). Or is that just part of the grind for endgame?

How to get Avernus currency fast(er)?

    Posted: 02 Jul 2020 07:19 PM PDT

So I just started playing a month or so ago, and I finished Undermountain. Now I'm 18k, Zok box stuff isn't giving me big upgrades anymore, and so I'm looking for the next thing.

Somebody told me to go do the beginning of the Avernus campaign and hop from zone to zone doing the ape event. I thought, cool, this must be like the Zok boxes.

Well, I did the ape event, which was fun enough, but I only got 10 of the currency. It costs 100 to buy the box. But it took me a while to get to the one ape event, because all of the zones were full. So it could potentially be a large time investment to do that event 10 times.

Is there a faster way to get the writings or whatever? I'm not really trying to get gear for gear's sake or to max out, but I want to be able to do the next module with the new quests, areas, etc. Doing MEx3 for the next month or something doesn't sound thrilling.

    Thanks.

    Question about Vallenhas treasure boxes

    Posted: 02 Jul 2020 05:07 PM PDT

So I wonder, in the vallenhas store where you can buy those treasure boxes which contain companion upgrade tokens, do they give more tokens the higher your riftwarden rank is? Or do they give the same amount of tokens regardless of your riftwarden rank?
